Fresh off the back of playing packed rooms on his headline UK Tour, Running Touch today releases his new video for single ‘When I’m Around You’ and announces the supports to his biggest Australian headline tour to date.
The ‘When I’m Around You’ video is a mood piece inspired project produced and directed by Running Touch and Shevin Dissanayake under the Post Modern Collective flag.
Running Touch says, “We went out trying to make something that sits alongside the song, not in front of it and bring the first instances of this narrative to life. It sets a precedent and passage for what this story will develop into. Everything in the video has its place, the colour, build and temperamental contrasts are all pointing and plotting.”
Running Touch and the Post Modern Collective have always put an emphasis on home-grown elements, with everything from music, to visual content, to shows, to tour parties - utilising friends and those involved in the project from the very start, using all video content as a time-stamp that reflects a moment in time with friends just as much as it does a chapter in the Running touch project.
As he gears up for his first ever US headline tour in May including the world’s premiere electronic festival Ultra Miami Festival, Running Touch has announced Antony & Cleopatra and Hi-Life as special guests for his ‘When I’m Around You Australian Tour’. The Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and now ADELAIDE shows will see the enigmatic producer, artist and songwriter step onto bigger stages, playing even larger venues than ever before.
‘When I’m Around You’ is the follow-up single to ‘My Hands’ which reached #1 most played track on triple j and was added to major playlists around the world including Apple Music’s A-list Electronic in 37 countries and twelve of Spotify’s largest editorial lists. The video, directed, curated, filmed and edited by Running Touch, was added across the board to MTV, MTV Dance, YouTube’s ‘Electronic Hotlist (USA) and chosen as the ‘Sexiest Song of 2018’ by the triple j listeners. He recently released a remix of the Odesza track ‘Late Night’ and collaborated with Hayden James last year on the ‘Better Together’, charting #1 on the iTunes Electronic Chart and added to New Music Friday in the US. Currently the Melbourne artist now has over 1.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
