LIME CORDIALE today announce their anticipated second-annual music event THE SQUEEZE. MCed by comedian Demi Lardner, the all-ages experience will feature performances by Tyne James Organ, The Lulu Raes, Heaps Good Friends, and Asha Jefferies, with a headline set by Lime Cordiale.
The Squeeze begins in Brisbane at The Valley Drive In on Saturday 1 June with an under 18s matinee in the afternoon and an over 18s show in the evening; moving on to all ages dates at Melbourne’s Forum on Sunday 9 June, and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday 15 June.
The Squeeze returns for its second year in 2019, introducing a killer selection of the best up and coming local acts to music lovers around the country, in an experience like nothing else!
Hailing from Sydney’s northern beaches, brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach of Lime Cordialecommand legions of dedicated fans with their incredible live set. Fresh from sell-out dates across Australia and New Zealand, their cruisey surf-rock has impressed, recent single ‘Money’ earning the ‘most played’ status on triple j. Lime Cordiale have toured with the likes of Ball Park Music, Tash Sultana, performed at SXSW, Lost Paradise, Bluesfest, Groovin the Moo, and boast over 30 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music.
“Oli and Louis Leimbach have thrown the kitchen sink of funk, folk and synthy electro at their garrulous, sunny indie pop” – Rolling Stone
“Some of the most memorable and melodic hooks this side of Abbey Road. Beach Boys, eat your heart out” – Sydney Morning Herald
Wollongong-born, Melbourne-based indie artist Tyne-James Organ brings his emotional intensity to The Squeeze stage. Gathering an adoring fanbase through his captivating covers, the release of powerful debut ‘In My Arms’ proved Tyne’s songwriting chops - recent release ‘Graceful’ making him one of 2018’s “most buzzed about songwriters” (triple j). He’s toured with Lewis Watson, Allday, and LANKS, Music Feeds calling him “a serious one to watch”.
Sydney band The Lulu Raes will serve up their hook-laden pop tunes this June. Cosmic singles such as hit ‘Burnout’ have excited audiences, the band releasing their debut album ‘LULU’ last year. They’ve toured with The Jungle Giants, Jamie XX, DMAs, and Polish Club, and premiered standout sets at great Aussie festivals such as Lost Paradise, Groovin the Moo, and Secret Garden. “Swooning, easy, breezy pop that is easily digestible without being saccharine." – The Music
Heaps Good Friends have been demanding attention with their spacey pop songs, full of undeniable quirk. Singles like ‘Let’s Hug Longer’, ‘Olympic Sneakers’ and ‘I Could Eat a Full Packet of Yo Yos’ have received extensive radio play, and streaming numbers in the millions. The band has toured with The Jungle Giants, Confidence Man, and scored the coveted triple j Unearthed performance slot at Groovin’ the Moo. “Weaving some seriously intelligent and well-crafted production in with the same playful and fun-embracing sense of songwriting” – The AU Review
Indie-pop up-and-comer Asha Jefferies will deliver intimate singles ‘Everybody Talks’ and ‘If You Were My Hero’ with her soaring, golden voice. Playing Nannup Music Festival, Secret Garden, and a support slot for Julia Jacklin, her songs have been nominated for the Queensland Music Awards, and landed her on most played list on triple j Unearthed in 2018. Triple j’s Richard Kingsmill says, “there’s an underlying strength here that is utterly convincing. 4.5 stars.”
Award-winning comedian Demi Lardner takes on MC duties, bringing the laughs between sets with her quirky high-energy banter. She has performed at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and keeps the laughs going with her podcast bigsofttitty.png.
Packed with incredible talent, The Squeeze is an event for music lovers of all ages. Discover your new favourite band, have a laugh, and bring along your mates for a night of good times this June.
