Brisbane’s shining folk-pop artist Hallie is today thrilled to share her latest single ‘Stuck In Mud’, an enchanting new taste of her debut EP ‘Wink Wink Nudge Nudge’, due for release on September 27th. In celebration of the ‘Wink Wink Nudge Nudge’ release, Hallie will be embarking on tour across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Wollongong, and is currently touring Queensland with Holy Holy.
“’Stuck in Mud’ is the only song off the EP that isn’t a personal story,” Hallie reveals.“It’s about two people in a relationship that just stay because it’s comfortable, which at the time it was written, I saw a lot of in my friends’ relationships. I think I didn’t realise it then, but looking back this song was a bit of a metaphor for my relationship with life. I was in a bit of a lul and felt safe, but not satisfied. For me ‘Stuck in Mud’ is a reminder to get out of my comfort zone and that constant security can’t teach you much. It’s a piece full of angst, frustration and muffins, and I am so connected and proud of this piece.”
The single release comes hot on the heels of Hallie’s Unearthed BIGSOUND competition win, which saw heropen the triple j Unearthed stage at this year’s festival, ahead of performances from 3K, Adrian Eagle, Cry Club, Dulcie, Fergus James, Miiesha, Stevan, and Tones & I. Hallie was also Unearthed's feature artist for that week.
